Piroplast-2K (60–130)

Piroplast-2K (60–130) – Hydrocarbon Resin

Piroplast-2K (60–130) is a high–softening point hydrocarbon resin produced by thermal polymerization of petroleum pyrolysis products. This grade offers greater hardness, higher cohesive strength, and improved thermal stability, making it suitable for industrial coatings, high-performance inks, rubber modification, adhesives, and compounding applications.

With a Gardner color of 11–14, it has a deeper tone than lower grades but delivers superior mechanical and thermal performance. It is ideal for applications requiring higher softening temperature and structural rigidity.

Key Features & Benefits

  • High softening point for increased thermal resistance
  • Strong adhesion & cohesive strength
  • Excellent mechanical stability
  • Good compatibility with rubbers, bitumen & polymers
  • Improves hardness, gloss & impact resistance in coatings
  • Low moisture uptake and low acid value
  • Balanced tack and long-term durability

Applications

Piroplast-2K (60–130) is widely used in high-performance formulations:

  • Industrial Coatings: alkyd enamels, heavy-duty varnishes, anti-corrosive coatings
  • Printing Inks: heat-resistant inks, high-performance resin systems
  • Rubber Industry: compounding, tire formulations, high-stability softeners
  • Asphalt / Bitumen Modification: PMB, road binders, waterproofing membranes, roofing
  • Adhesives & Sealants: high-performance HMAs, PSA and solvent-based adhesives
